In a nutshell...
Today
Milly De Mori, aka DJ millydemori, is considered one of the upcoming female
international DJs in electronic music.
Between club gigs, radio, production work and now her personal label SoundSelective
Records, her career has been steadily growing to a rounder artist
profile.
Joining the dots from minimal house through to techno with effortless ease,
Milly De Mori's sophisticated and innovative touch is able to convey a certain
"groove" yet unique underground mood to her DJ sets, well suited
for both mainfloors or the smaller rooms.
While touring in different clubs throughout Italy (Magazzini Generali, Tenax,
Clorofilla) and Internationally (Space Ibiza, Privilege Ibiza, Razmatazz,
Rechenzentrum) , Milly holds a residency at 4Cento (Milan) and is a frequent
spinner at the legendary club Frau Marlen in Torre del Lago (Tuscany) and
at the equally famous La Messa parties in Milan.
In addition her weekly radio show MILLYBAR on Radio
M2O, Italy’s leading electronic radio station, has been
growing to an impressive following in 7 years she’s been on air.
As
per her productions, Milly works mostly solo, but she's occasionally joined
forces with a couple of talented producers like Luca Doobie (Off, Heimatmelodie,
Safari Electronique) and with Inexcess (Still Vor Talent) in Berlin.
Highgrade Records, Malatoid, Presslab Records, Landed, Kritical Noise
Records or Strike are some of the labels she's released
with, besides her own SoundSelective Records.

In
1999 Milly started SoundSelective.com, a pioneristic web-only-radio
station, that webcasted some of the best house, deep house, teck house and
tecno and offered, alongside traditional programming rotation, a weekly live
webcast show with audio and video feeds straight from the DubLab Los Angeles
studios.
Due to the WallStreet crash in 2001 and consequent fall of the Dot.coms',
SoundSelective was forced to suspend the programming and radio streaming,
and she was left free to pursue her DJ career and delve into music production.
As it is today, under the SoundSelective Inc umbrella, reside both a music
service company catering to high-end fashion brands, and a record label.
In 2004, as electronica was taking over Europe, Milly decided to relocate
to Italy to be closer in contact with the house and minimal teck house contaminations
coming from Germany and France. Since then she's been traveling and working
regularly to Spain, Tunisia, Germany, London and Berlin.
Her career has taken Milly to share the decks with some of the best DJs like
i.e. Francois K, Mauro Picotto, Miss Kittin, Alex Neri, Stefano Fontana aka
Stylophinc, Paul Oakenfold, Presslaboys, Astro & Glyde or Elio Riso.
Here're some of the cities/countries where she's performed:
Berlin (Rechenzentrum Park), Ibiza (Space, Privilege), Barcelona
(Razzmatazz), London (Hub), Mexico City (Condesa DF Club
Hotel), Paris (Pulp & Fashion events), Tunisia (Cotton
Club), NY (Centro Fly, Sullivan Room, Mr Black's, SB3, Bar13), SF
(Supper Club), Milan (Magazzini Generali, 4Cento, La Messa parties,
Codice a Barre & Fashion events), Germany (Karlshrue, Braunschweig),
Florence (Tenax), Istanbul (Privat Party), Miami
(WMC 2002-2006, Opium Garden, Living Room, Nikki Beach, Cafeteria), Moscow
(Club XIII), Turin (La Gare, Le Chalet), Bari (Divinae Follie, Clorofilla,
Mavu'), Venice (Art Biennial Opening Party), Rome (La Maison, Chalet),
Nevada- US (Burning Man), Atlanta (Eleven50, Riviera, Karma)
and many many more...
Besides the underground club scene, Milly is also involved in the fashion
scene, working & curating the sound for special events, presentations,
catwalk shows or parties for a vast number of luxury brands like Prada, Gucci,
Emilio Pucci, Calvin Klein, Christian Weber, Riccardo Tisci to name just a
few. For a full music-fashion-profile, please go to www.soundselective.com
In
addition, Milly has formed a collaborative project called Three
O together with sax player Amedeo Bianchi and trumpet
player Marco Brioschi , making what's been defined as "electronic-jazzy
lounge music on "acid"", with a broad spectrum of moods and
grooves ranging from chilled to more uptempo ones.
Three O is working on completing their first album, of which 2 tracks have
already been licenced to Zoogami for "No Genious on the Edge" compilation,
which released this past Winter 2008.

Back in the day...
Fascinated
more with tecky sounds and funky basslines than with vocals, Milly De Mori
finds her roots in house music in the late 80's/beginning 90's, when hanging
out in Ibiza she was first exposed to the 4/4's that changed her life.
Italian born living in Milan, Milly decided to move to NY in '93 where she
spent 12 years, until 2005.
During her US stay Milly bloomed as a DJ artist, and the exposure to a effervescent
90’s New York dance scene with clubs like Sound Factory and Twilo
(Danny Tenaglia) or Body & Soul (with Francois K, Clausell and Krivit)
or the teck house Matter-Form parties (with Adult Napper, Mr C) contributed
to shape her sound to a true mix of electronic and organic elements, thus
creating a very personal style that quickly found a great response in the
hottest markets like NYC, Atlanta and Miami.
